I found “Let’s Clebrate Diwali” at my local library. I enjoy children’s books (I am a retired high school Earth Science teacher). I especially appreciate books about other cultures. Your book is WONDERFUL!!!! I love how you have written about children who all celebrate Diwali, and how some of the children are concerned about how their classmates would feel about their different ways of celebrating the same holiday. I like how the teacher in the book is from a different culture, and how she asks the children to share their personal ways of celebrating Diwali.
Your book filled me with joy because of your message of acceptance! I hope many children will read your book and will see how important it is to be accepting. Though I had heard of Diwali from my coworker from India, your book taught me some more. You end your story beautifully, how Harini shares her bangles and dupatta with Anna.
